On Dec. 17, we opened the doors of our 200th restaurant in Fairmont, MN–a milestone for every team member. It’s hard to believe that we started with just six restaurants located in regional shopping centers in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area in 1987!
“Not in our wildest dreams could we image that today we’d be the predominant Taco Bell operator in the upper Midwest,” said Lee Engler, Founder and CEO. “What is most satisfying isn’t necessarily the number 200, but the positive impact Border Foods has had on so many people’s lives.”
Providing life changing career opportunities to thousands is truly the greatest accomplishment, Lee said. And our leadership team agrees:
“Growth is one of the most important ingredients in providing opportunities for our team,” said Chief Operations Officer Jeff Williams. “Growth in our company and growth in the number of restaurants, whether acquired or built.”
Fairmont is the 32nd new build restaurant for our Development Department, and the 6th this year. With every new restaurant, we add 35-45 new jobs to the community and 35-45 more people to our Border Foods family.
