Team Member Spotlight: Emma Christopherson

by

Tell us a little bit about yourself.
My names Emma Christopherson. I am originally from Fallbrook, California. I’m currently in my third year at South Dakota State University and I’m Majoring in Sociology with a minor in Human Services and Resources. I absolutely love the Midwest and plan on staying after I graduate!

What is your favorite part about working for Border Foods?
My favorite part about Border Foods is the family atmosphere. I really appreciate and like how the company cares about its employees, and the employees care about each other. I’ve met some amazing people working at Taco Bell.

What’s your go-to menu item?
Beefy Nacho Griller… but I am also a big fan of our Chicken Quesadilla!

Any fun facts about yourself that you can share with us?
I used to raise some livestock in my small town in southern California through FFA! I also know a good amount of American Sign Language.

If given a chance, who would you like to be for a day and why?
Jane Goodall because of her conservation work. I think studying, living and working with chimpanzees in their own habitat would be super interesting.

List one piece of advice you’d like to give to your fellow team members.
Always wake up and make a conscious decision to have a good day. Being in customer service can be frustrating, but it can also be very rewarding if you choose to not give your energy to things that frustrate you. If you wake up and choose to have a great day, chances are you will!

Share three career lessons you’ve learned so far.
Treat your customers and coworkers with respect, and nine out of ten times it will be reciprocated. Work can be a fun experience if you create a fun environment. Paying attention to the small things helps build a better big picture.

What do you like to do in your spare time?
I love going to the lake and spending time on the water fishing and enjoying lake life! I also love to cook and bake. I’m a big family person as well, so I love visiting my family whether that’s via FaceTime, taking a trip back to California, or driving to visit some of my family members in South Dakota.
