What some are calling “the most innovative Taco Bell to date” is coming to Brooklyn Park, MN. On Aug. 16, our President, Aaron Engler, and other members of the leadership team broke ground on the new concept, with hopes of opening for the public in the spring of 2022. The Taco Bell Defy will be unlike any Taco Bell.
To bring the new concept to life, we partnered with Vertical Works Inc. to design a 3,000 square-foot, two story model that features technology never seen before in the fast food industry. The design includes four drive-thru lanes where customers can quickly check-in and grab their Taco Bell, a well as a vertical lift that moves food down from the kitchen to the customer in the car below.
“This new, innovative concept breaking ground in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota, will improve a major aspect of the consumer experience: drive-thru speed,” said Aaron Engler, President of Border Foods. “We’re partnering with Taco Bell and the best and brightest in technology and design to create what will very likely be the future of quick service restaurants.”
Word is getting out to the public about the new Taco Bell Defy, and people are getting excited! Even Elon Musk mentioned the new concept on Twitter.
