Border Team Members Give Back at Second Harvest Heartland

by

On Dec. 5, team members from Border Foods HQ, along with local leaders, gathered at Second Harvest Heartland to give back to the community.

“Generosity is an important part of our business. Not only do we value giving back to our team members, but also to the communities we do business in,” said Aaron Engler, Chief Administrative and Financial Officer.

According to their website, Second Harvest Heartland is a nonprofit with a fleet of trucks that travel nearly half a million miles a year, picking up food donations and delivering them to local food shelves, soup kitchens, homeless shelters, senior community centers and children’s feeding programs.

Roughly 30 Border employees worked to pack boxes of produce for those in need. In total, the company packed 4,321 pounds of meal kits, creating 5,777 meals in total!
