Concluding a fun-filled season of get togethers with managers and their families throughout all of Border Foods’ , the company hosted its final Family Fun Day of 2022 on August 19 in Rapid City, South Dakota.
The event, hosted at Central States Fair, celebrated GMs and AGMs from several of Border’s South Dakota locations, as well as seven Wyoming Taco Bells.
Betty Burgess, a general manager from Casper, Wyoming, loved that they combined the three areas together. She recalled going to hotel pool at one point and realizing she knew everyone there!
Like other Family Fun Days, this great get together began with a catered lunch together, prizes and drawings, and greetings from the leadership team. Then the fun really took off when Carnival Americana opened! Guests were given all day passes to enjoy their day off of work to check out rides with family and friends. And fair food!
“Who doesn’t love anything that is deep fried?” asks Betty.
For RGM Barb Bunney, the timing and location was interesting. She leads the Rapid City Taco Bell. For her restaurant, the excitement of “family fun” fell during the peak of their busiest week! Yet thankfully, she was still able to enjoy the event with her husband.
According to Barb, who’s been with Border Foods for six years, these events are important because it shows that the company appreciates what you do.
“It’s just awesome to see leadership,” she says. “It’s great to see everybody together.”
Betty agrees. “One of the highlights for me is seeing the leadership team. Being all the way out in Wyoming… doesn’t happen a lot.”
