Continuing the excitement and community of bringing together managers and their families during its annual Family Fun Days events, on August 10, Border Foods hosted its Michigan Upper Peninsula locations and the Marinette, Wisconsin restaurant, at Van Cleve Park in Gladstone, MI.
For this event, about 65 people congregated on the shores of beautiful Lake Michigan, where the company rented a pavilion and catered in local food. The location was particularly special for Area Coach Heather Aos, who was excited to have her colleagues come together in her own hometown.
Heather shared details about some of the highlights: a bouncy house, carnival games, ice cream, mini golf, a monster toss, swimming and prizes. “It was fun to meet parents’ kids, significant others, and their parents.” She also says seeing leadership show up outside the restaurant, “makes everyone really relatable.”
For many, the feedback continues to be the same: seeing all of the kids playing together, meeting new babies, knowing that children are connecting and forming friendships, warms the heart.
Jackie Lamoureaux agrees. “It’s so fun seeing all of the kids interacting,” she says.
Jackie is an area-coach-in-training from Marinette. It was the first time in five years that she didn’t bring her own family so she could spend quality time with the other Area Coaches.
Why are these events so important? For Jackie, not only is it fun to get together outside of work, but she says it provides a chance to “bond with peers, adds value to relationships and leaves people feeling more committed.”
Here’s to many years of family fun ahead!
