On July 20, Border Foods hosted its annual Family Fun Day for northern Michigan RGMs and AGMs at Michigan’s Adventure theme park. A beloved company tradition that celebrates devoted restaurant leaders and their families, these events are a favorite way to give back to our own.
“Investing in having some fun and time away from the stores is super important,” says Director of Operations Vince Bosscher of the event.
“I absolutely love seeing people’s families… all of the people they bring.”

For newbie RGM Tracy Broton, who’s only been with Border Foods for six months, the event definitely left an impression. Joining Border Foods after working for another QSR brand for 20 years, she’s never seen a company go out of its way like this. Family Fun Day gave her a feeling of community (“family away from your family”), where she got the chance to actually sit down and talk with other RGMs, have fun.
Though she’s only been with Border Foods for a short time, Tracy caught on to its commitment to employees pretty quickly. At the event, she witnessed the surprise announcement of this year’s Border Foods Scholarship recipients for her area:

-
- Harmony Goodman (Border Foods; Allegan)
- Rose Pankiewicz (Border Foods; Allendale)

She couldn’t believe Area Coaches, members of HR and one of the owners traveled for Family Fun Day and the chance to greet scholarship winners themselves.
“That’s remarkable to me — that they take time out of their personal life, work life, to be there for that stuff,” she says. “It really says a lot.”
So don’t miss out on on your chance to join a company that cares, apply today! Border Foods is always looking to hire fresh talent to fill our restaurants.
